today in class we had a test and i thought it was easy. there isn't much else to write about other than the fact that Derek's shadow had to take the test.

Today in class Derek and Garrett presented the power point on climate change that Mr.Schick already presented and somehow it started a conversation about Donald Trump. Derek and Garrett in my mind didn't do that good of a job the first three slides where completely read off as they where written and the rest of it had a lot of missing points like when in the video it said that the ocean raised .3 degrees they said it had no direct effect on the ocean right after the video said it did.

Today in class we went over Bill Nye and his theory on climate change. i learned that the earths temperature has been the hottest 11 out of the last 14 years. also due to the raise in temperature the ocean has grown .3 degrees warmer in the past few years that is enough to raise the acidity enough to kill of a lot of things like clams which other fish depend on. also this has caused the ice burgs and the polar ice caps to melt eventually rise and maybe even flood coastal areas.

today in class we started new unit about environmental geography specifically Global warming. we talked about how the earth's temperature has raised 1.5 degrees in the past century. we also talked about all the things that allow global warming to be a thing the cars, factories and of course the cow farts. we also learned that teh earth rotates through ice age and normal (for us) temperatures.

today in class we had a test and Mr. Schick is already grading them and he came back and the average was like 74% and then he started calling people and the first half of the class went up and nobody got a 90 or higher and Derek was the only person i the class that got a 90 so i'm in shock. the rest of the class was spent writing this so go to the top if you want to see how i wrote it.

today in class we went over a power point about the worlds most practiced religions in the world and there origin story's. most of there religions come from Abraham who the Christians, Muslims, and Jews. the forth one we looked at was Buddhism in which was very interesting in the fact that it was not really a religion more a way to live your life.

today we looked at a whole bunch of graphs about the worlds religion we went over the percent of the people in the world that practiced that religion and where they are in the world. i thought it was interesting that in all the places in the world that Muslim was the #1 religion they where all developing countries like India and Indonesia. that means that soon Muslim will be the most practiced religion in the world. also the United States is made up of literally all Catholics there are only some tiny pockets of Jews in the US but they are still there.

The Cubs won the world series last night and mr Schick just showed us stuff about the cubs all day.

                Today in class we looked at the CIA world fact book and all of the interesting things that surprised us for most of the period we talked about the drug production and exchange between the U.S.A. and Mexico and how it is effecting us we and how the police force finds the places where others grow the drugs and then “bust them” by saying that they get twenty percent and letting grow and make drugs to use as “tax” money to build schools and pave roads meanwhile it is effecting the U.S.A. negatively by giving kids the opportunity to buy $20.00 dollar drugs and get addicted to them. The Mexicans also won’t stop since they make so much money and they want more to cover for the Twenty percent that they  may or may not have to give to the police.

today in class we did a power point on the states in the world and at the end Mr. Schick showed us a video naming all the states in the world it was fast, about two minutes, but it did tell us them all. Mr. Schick wanted us to write them all down a got down Canada and the USA and then gave up. other than that we sat there and took notes it was dark out and the only real light was the board and i almost feel asleep a couple times it was funny though looking across the row and watching dean fall asleep and then suddenly wake back up. Later that day we had a assembly about the new drug testing and about drugs in general and It was an hour of health class that I had sat through before.

10/18/16

                Today in class we took a test and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be the thing I had the most trouble with in class was the population pyramids but there was only about 4 or 5 questions on them. Other than that, it was pretty easy especially the extra credit question what is the net migration rate of the world the answer is zero because no one leaves or comes to earth that we know about. The rest of the class was turned in to a supervised free mod where we did homework and other things and Derek was Derek and didn’t stop talking.

               Today in class we studied for our test by just going over key terms and the CIA world fact book. we also did a contest thing where Mr. Schick gave us a place and what to find about that place while we were doing this Derek somehow opened the java coding for the website and thought he accidently deleted the entire website. Other than that, it was a normal day except for the PSAT’s Wednesday which I don’t want to do but it is a half day and we can go in late. Last today I went to game club and I’m just typing now to get words in so ill stop.

               Today in class we watched a video it was from a TV show called the news room it was very interesting that all the people in that room where surprised when the news anchor talked up about his thoughts about the USA not being the best country in the world he then went on to state a lot of areas that people thought the USA was the best in like all the things you would think we are number 1 in but we are actually 60^th or 70^th it is hard to believe. After that Mr. Schick asked us how we thought about the USA being the best in the world it went on for a little but it ended up not being very long

               Today in class we did a project it was about the population birth rate and other things about countries on the CIA website we had to find the top three the bottom three the USA and two others. It was a lot of work but it was interesting and fun. Other than that we didn’t do much we just sat there and did work but it still was fun especially when the smaller countries showed the economy or the death rate and all the facts about the place its crazy all the facts it has about everything its crazy.

9/29/16

               Today in class we did a power point on life expectancy and a whole lot of other stuff like that and apparently, Monday when we have him next we will go on to the CIA website and find the difference between the US and other countries I don’t know what we will do with this but it will probably turn into an essay in which we have to explain why we think the numbers are what they are and what factors made it like that. Other than that, we sat there and took notes but with Mr. Shick talking and explaining what things are he turned something that other teachers would have made a one day thing out of it he made it two days long and it helped a lot in my mind.

               Today we got our tests back and went over them. I got a ninety I was happy because I didn’t fail but I think I could do better but I still am happy I’m still happy though. We had shadows in class and they had to answer questions to I don’t know why but it’s Mr. Shick. So now I am typing my blog while Mr. Shick showed us pictures of his dogs and horses and one of their horses was a first responder to a terrorist attack in time square. He also talked about his dogs and how he got them and how they wake him up at five in the morning. But it was a long period especially since it was just the test and this.

9/22/16

today relay all we did was go over last night’s homework in a weird way. Mr. Shick asked us what we wrote about and it eventually turned into what we wanted to get as a job and eventually yoga. Three conversations lasted an entire hour, an hour of elaboration like when we went around the room and Mr. Shick asked every one if they knew what they wanted to be and many people knew what they wanted to do and a lot involved medical practice while me and a few others had ideas like visual editor and an umpire. Also somehow we got Mr. Shick to shave his mustache if we all get at least a 90 on the next test I real don’t know how but he said yes. It might happen but he might of already forgotten.

did you know 2016?

                              Today in class we watched a video about fact in 2016 and some facts that I found interesting where that in 2050 there will be 10 billon people in in the world because that means that in 34 years three billion people will be born all around the word that’s about 40% of the current world population in a few decades, that blew my mind that because it is just a huge number that you don’t expect to happen in such a short time. It feels like a disease it starts out slow and eventually gets out of control and multiplies at a rapid rate.

               Next is that 25% of people in India with the highest IQ’s outnumber the entire population in America sherry because they have that many more people than us and can do at home jobs just as good as we can if they can do their job remotely the company can give them less money than they can American workers and such there is so much more of them they are a lot easier to find than an American work that is as capable as the person in India.

               Last is the fact that we are training people to do things that don’t exist. To use things that haven’t been invented it’s crazy you don’t know what it is how can you know how to teach it what it is or how it works. Nobody ever thought that hey I’m going to teach my kids how to drive 5 or 10 years before cars were invented so how are they doing it is time travel a thing or are they taking the predictions of something like a self-driving car and teaching these kids how that works and what needs to be done to prefect it or are they just wildly guessing about hey tomorrow a self-flying plane is going to be made and given to the public this is how it works and then they ramble on about something that doesn’t exist

today in class we had a test going into it i didn't feel to good because it was a test. but when i actuality got it it was easy i was surprised that the questions where so easy. I feel very strong about all but one question i am very happy. i don't think there will be a test this easy again but im shure if i study the will be.

               Today in class we had a review for our test which is next class. Mr. Shick let a student be the “teacher” today and she went over the power point we have been working on for the past week. We went over a message to Garcia and it not so hidden method to encourage people with Rowan taking the message to him without question and its very bold way of saying don’t be lazy. Next we went over the Greek words we looked up the main three being agora, polis, and idiot all having to do with the new at the time democracy. Agora was the meeting place that the votes were held in. The polis was the group of people who took place in the vote. Finally an idiot was someone who doesn’t take part in social activity like voting. Next was Socrates, his teachings, the Socratic method, and his eventual death.

Today in class we finished the Socrates notes that included his death and his teachings. The way he died was through his actions during his teachings he broke two laws he did not believe in the gods that his city did and he encouraged youth to look at things differently than they were thought. In his trial he fought with the words I have done these things but it was my duty and job to make people think differently. He ended up being guilty and was sentenced to death but it was a very close vote. He also was given the chance to escape and he chose to not escape and drank the poison to kill him. That poison killed him over an hour it was painful and long but he drank it and killed himself.

            Today in class we finished the notes from Thursday. We also had a discussion in which Mr. Shick just instigated the entire thing by not stating his opinion and just finding flaws in the thing the person said and turning that into a question. This is also what Socrates did to young workers just outside of the agora. This eventually led to the scientific method which is as follows problem, hypothesis, experiment, observe, results. It can be different from person to person though. Socrates also was a stonemason, wrestler, and warrior when he was younger. He fought heroically in war. Around this time the democracy in Grease formed allowing males who were born in Athens vote on things. but it was very different then we do it every single person voting one at a time would stand at a podium and give their stance on the matter and why they thought that way to try to persuade others into voting with them.

today i was not in class due to a doctor appointment

Today in class we went over what we did in the past week and a half from a message to Garcia and it’s not so hidden message to never question what you are told in a job and to be like Rowan the mysterious that takes a message to Garcia without question, to the word for a Greek meeting place agora where there where shops merchants and people from everywhere teaching skills to whoever wanted them. They would hold votes here when Grease started the first Democracy where the men would vote on every little thing that was questionable due to the small number of men who could vote where today we meet every one or two years to reelect someone into office. Mr. Shick is back now and for the two days I have had him he is funny and cool. I think the rest of the year will be great.

Greek and Garcia

In the past two days we looked at two things a message to Garcia and some Greek words and they fall tougher very well. For instance, in a message to Garcia many of the people described by this essay can fit with the Greek definition of idiot which is someone who does not partake in public activity’s. Also in the essay it was a lot about a perfect employee and one of the greek words means perfection.

The essay “the message to Garcia” became very popular in 1899 when it was published in the magazine The Philistine. The writer of this essay Elbert Hubbard wrote this with the intention of helping people with their jobs. The army soon after it was published started using it to allow the don’t ask just do mentality the army needs. With this essay he also inspired many people to try to be more like that perfect employ. In my life tis essay will help me get things done and not ask questions about why should I do this, why can’t he, and I’ll do it later. I think it helped people stop procrastinating and it will help me do that as well.

My First Day at JC

my first day at JC was a lot different than I thought it would be. for the first two mods I did not have a locker so I had to carry my bag with me. I had math first mod and human geo second math was easy, a refresher, and felt a lot shorter than an hour. human geo was the compete opposite it was no teaching just get on your computer and start typing this. It still is interesting though that this is going to be most of all the classes. Advisory was short and ikt was a good break from the classes. Next was biology which was long and very much about safety. Lunch was good the food was good and it was a good break as well. Next was Bible which will be something different since I come from a public school but I am excited. Last was English which was fun I like the teacher and know some kids in that class. Now as I am typing this I have a free mod so it gives me some time to do work but it was a fun day and I can’t wait till tomorrow.
